Out in the Cold
7/20,16:15
After the showing, members of Gay and Lesbian Action-OCCUR will be present to discuss current problems facing gay and lesbian youth in Japan.

In America, there are currently over 1,300,000 runaway and homeless youths. Roughly 500,000 of them are gay, lesbian, or transsexual. They have been cast out by family and society, forcing them out onto the streets. To survive, some turn to crime or prostitution, or numb themselves with drugs. All the same, at least 13 are estimated as dying each day, in the cold. Why should they have to live this way? Why would their families turn their backs on them? This impactful documentary follows the sobering, and touching, accounts of the youths themselves in search of an answer.
