Call for donations! Let’s raise 500,000 yen for the TILGFF!!
There’s less than a month to go until the TILGFF opens, on September 14, 2012!
We’ve been receiving many messages of excitement and anticipation about this year’s festival, and the organizers of the TILGFF would like to thank you for all your letters of encouragement.
TILGFF would like to ask all the fans and supporters to consider making a donation to help realize this film festival.
The festival has been held 21 times, and is aimed at raising the visibility of LGBT people and spreading the joy of LGBT culture.
The financial struggle to continue holding the TILGFF has always existed. Though dedicated volunteers have been a great help with running the festival and reducing the costs, a certain amount of cost is inevitable. In fact, the TILGFF has been struggling to break even each year.
In order to build up a stable foundation, the organizers are reviewing how to raise funds. One of the challenges this year has been opening a web page to accept donations from fans and supporters. Your contribution will be strictly used to hold the TILGFF, which we hope will be more fun and encourage more participation than ever.
The target goal for this year is 500,000 yen.
Please help spread the word to your friends and the world! Your contribution is needed for the film festival to continue to be able to bring films to make us laugh, make us cry, and finally make us think. Progress toward the fundraising target will be announced on Twitter.
