The quiet life of the aging couple Stella and Dotty is suddenly torn apart when Dotty’s granddaughter takes it upon herself to place her in a care home. After Stella breaks Dotty out in a daring rescue, the two drive to Canada to get legally married. Along the way, they pick up Prentice, a young hitchhiker and sexy go-go dancer heading home to visit his dying mother. This witty and romantic comedy explores themes of life, death and love as seen through the eyes of the oddball trio. The result is a delicate balance of humor and grace rarely found on screen.
