Welcome to the Tokyo International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival!
Last year on the celebration of our 20th anniversary, we felt a sense of awe at having managed to keep going for so long. The festival, you see, has always been run completely by volunteers. That’s why, despite our best efforts, we have fallen short on occasion of the professionalism that experience brings, no doubt inconveniencing large numbers of people.
We have continued to prosper, however, in spite of such limitations due in no small part to the support of our numerous sponsors, donors and, especially, you movie-goers who take the time to come out and participate in the festival. Allow me to express my enormous appreciation to everyone involved, past, present and future.
The culture of sexual minorities is nothing unique, just a little colorful and perhaps slightly provocative to those unfamiliar. As we take the first step of a new journey on this, our 21st festival, come join us in taking delight in that slight difference!
