Margarita follows an illegal Mexican nanny who is fired by her cash-strapped employers, which sets in motion a chain of events that leaves her torn between loyalties and the law. Desperately in love, but feeling rejected by her commitment-phobic girlfriend, Margarita becomes resigned to moving back home to Mexico. The family quickly discovers that Margarita’s modest salary was the only good investment they had ever made and hatch a series of ill-conceived schemes to keep her in the country. Suddenly, it seems like everyone wants to help Margarita, except the one person who can actually save her.
