Panel discussion on Hate Crime in Japan and in the USA
with the queer activist group OCCUR
July 20 (Thursday, holiday)
4:00pm~ screening of Licensed to Kill
5:30pm ~ discussion (30min; free of charge)
The discussion will be conducted in Japanese.

Two of our queer documentary offerings (and one or two of our features) this year address gay bashing. A panel discussion on the state of hate crimes against the queer community in Japan will accompany these screenings. The discussion will cover bashing in Japan, the murders in Shinkiba-koen (a park on the east side of Tokyo), cultural differences between Japan and the United States in relation to discrimination.
