Talk event to be held after screening of “No Look Pass”!

A talk event will be held after the screening of “No Look Pass” starting at 12:50 pm as part of the ONE-DAY SCREENING IN SPRING on April 29, 2014.
We will have Kaoru Nemoto as our guest, who in the past devoted herself to refugee relief activities as a staff member of UNHCR (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) and is now the head of UNIC (United Nations Information Centre).
She will come from her office which is very near the Tokyo Women’s Plaza venue to talk about movies in light of her experience.
She will also be introducing what United Nations efforts for sexual minorities. We hope you will enjoy the event.

Kaoru Nemoto
graduated from the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Law.
After working for TV Asahi Corporation, she received her master’s degree in International Relations from Columbia University.
From 1996 to 2011, she engaged in refugee relief activities in Asia and Africa with UNHCR.
At the UNHCR Geneva headquarters, she worked in policy making and fund procurement from private sectors.
She has held the position of WFP (World Food Programme) spokesperson as well as Executive Director at UNHCR Japan office.
Following experience as a freelance journalist, she has been serving in her present position since last August.
Her latest book is “Nihon to Deatta Nanmintachi (Refugees encountering Japan) (Eiji Press, 2013).
