This year's festival is scheduled for July 15-19, 2004. Preparations for the festival
are currently underway, and the organizing committee is on the lookout for volunteers
who would like to lend a hand. Below you will find information on our next
orientation session for volunteers. Interested in trying your hand at helping
put together a film festival? Please take part! Next
Orientation Session for Festival Volunteers When:
May 30, 2004 (Sun) 4:00 pm Where: Tokyo - We plan on holding
one orientation session per month. - We are also constantly on the lookout
for staff willing to help us out on the actual days of the festival.
Areas We Need Your Help In - Sponsorship
/ Publicity We are currently looking for a few people to help in our fund
raising efforts by visiting businesses that may be interested in sponsoring our
festival. Experience in this field is a major plus, but anyone who is interested
and motivated would be a welcome addition to our Sponsorship team. We also need
publicity staffs as the days of TILGFF is approaching. - General Affairs
General Affairs volunteers handle a variety of work that crops up throughout
the festival preparation process. At the moment, that includes such duties as
preparing questionnaires, meeting minutes, and reports. Assignments will be based
upon your experience and abilities. Anyone with a strong sense of responsibility
is welcome. - Tickets This involves selling tickets and keeping
track of ticket sales. Advance tickets are sold prior to the festival at sales
outlets. This is also an important job from the standpoint of assessing the number
of attendees for each showing. People with time available in daytime of weekdays
would be especially nice. - Program Guide Distribution We are looking
for volunteers to help us distribute our festival's official program guide. A
lot of hands are needed for this task. Volunteers will go to pass out pamphlets
in Shinjuku 2-chome, at movie theaters, etc. Persons who can drive or provide
a car are particularly welcome. - Translation / Interpretation We
run our film festival in two languages, Japanese and English. Volunteers in this
area translates texts in our website or various kind of documents, and interprete
for people in need in the film festival. Persons who can translate from Japanese
into English, as well as native English speakers are particularly welcome. We
have already closed the acceptance of volunteers for subtitle translation this
year. - Web This involves putting together the festival website,
which is the centerpiece of advertising for our festival. We are looking for people
who are fairly familiar with the internet and website creation. - Party
We decided to hold a party on someday in the festival days. We are looking
for volunteers who are interested in or have the experience of organizing an party.
Volunteer orientation sessions primarily involve a brief explanation of the
festival and the work involved as well as getting to know one another.
Anyone interested in attending should contactlgffvol@mail.goo.ne.jpWe
will reply with information on the location of the meeting and other details.
